Pool codes differ by locality and can differ a great deal.  Be sure to check with your local pool codes to ensure purchase of a gate and hardware that will be complient in your particular zone.  Generally for compliancy the hardware is the main issue.  The gate must be self closing and lock upon closure.  To attain this you can implement self closing hinges on our gates.  The options for hinges are below.  Also the gate must be self locking this means that the latch must lock upon closure.  We have several options that your installer can implement onto our gates to ensure the gate(s) will lock automatically upon closure. 

Another common requirement is that a gap of 4" or less for the gate area 48" or lower.  Most of our designs meet this code but there are several patterns that do not.  So be sure that you mention to us this requirement if it is necessary so that we may assist you in choosing a compliant design.  Depending on the weight and dimensions of a gate it may be necessary to utilize 3 - 4 hinges on a single gate to ensure proper self closure.  We can assist you with determining this.

Pool Compliant Latches:

Option 1: "Side Pull" Magna Latch - this is a horizontal pull style and generally must be mounted at a specific height depending on your local pool code requirements.
Option 2: "Vertical and Top Pull" Magna Latch -  available in tall version for short gates and a short model for tall gates. Generally top release must be at a specific height according to your local pool code requirements. (for metal and wood gates)
